How to Cancel Hulu

The pause-trap screen — and the billing check to do first.

Hulu’s cancel flow includes a classic dark pattern: a pause offer placed exactly where your finger wants to click “done.” Know the full path before you start, and check who bills you first — cancelling in the wrong place does nothing.

Step 1: Find out who bills you

Log in at hulu.com, open your Account page, and read the Payment Information section. If it names Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku, Disney, Spotify, or a cable/phone provider, you must cancel with them — Hulu cannot stop those charges. Your card statement names the biller too.

Step 2: Cancel a Hulu-billed subscription

  1. Sign in at hulu.com in a browser and open your Account page.
  2. Under Your Subscription, click Cancel.
  3. When Hulu offers to pause instead, click Continue to Cancel.
  4. Decline any stay-offers and select Cancel Subscription to finalize.
  5. Save the confirmation email — it is your proof if billing continues.

Traps to watch for

What happens after you cancel

You keep access until the end of your current billing cycle, with no cancellation fee. Your profiles stay on the account, so resubscribing later restores everything.

Quick answers

Can I pause instead of cancelling?

Yes — Hulu offers a pause option during the cancel flow. Check the length offered before choosing; if you are unsure you want to leave, pausing is the safer click.

I cancelled an add-on but I am still being charged?

Add-ons bill separately from the base plan. Open your Account page and confirm the base Hulu subscription itself shows as cancelled.

Will I lose my profiles and watchlist?

No. Profiles and history stay on the account and restore automatically if you resubscribe.
